Toogoolawah shooters excel at State Titles

A GROUP of shooters from the Toogoolawah Clay Target Club Inc took part in the Queensland Clay Target Association (QCTA) state titles in Roma over the May long week-end.

The state titles attracted 300-plus shooters from four zones: Northern, Central, Western and South-East (which includes Toogoolawah).

On Saturday, May 1, four Toogoolawah members did well in the night Shoulder to Shoulder shoot.

Col Gurski and John Gemmill were in the Veterans squad, Louise Wilson in the ladies, and Jorja Pointon in the juniors.

On the Sunday night, awards were presented at a gala dinner. 

Two Toogoolawah members received an award. One recipient was Daryl Stevens for shooting a Grand Slam, which is shooting 50 pair Double Rise, 50 straight off 25m, as well as shooting 400 in a Double Barrel event.

Jorja Pointon received the Junior Sportsmanship award for all of the work that she does at the club and behind the scenes.
