Wamuran-SR and host team Glasshouse had an evenly poised battle on day one last Saturday, before the visitors gradually worked their way into a dominant position the next day.

After the home side won the toss and batted first last Saturday, its top five batters made double figures but none could score more than 30.

Glasshouse was soundly placed at 3/97 before crumbling to 6/97, and then losing its next three wickets with the total on 110.

John Nugent and Joshua Burton shared nine wickets while Thomas Cooper chipped in with one wicket as Glasshouse was dismissed for 122 in 54.1 overs.

Wamuran-SR then batted for 28 overs on day one and lost three wickets, while managing only 26 runs.

Opening batter Aaron Phillips crawled to nine not out from 85 balls, while Nicholas Golding conceded just two runs in eight overs.

Glasshouse’s bowlers continued to toil away on day two as runs were still not easy to score, but Wamuran-SR’s batters were gritty as just three wickets fell for 278 runs in 122 overs.

Lachlan Wright departed for 49, and Phillips’s painstaking innings ended just eight runs shy of a century.

Brad Teske was dismissed shortly after posting a half-century, before Dan Gibson made his way to 57 not out.

Gibson will resume batting with Kaidan Jarrett (24 not out) this Saturday, with Wamuran-SR looking to build on its 182-run lead and shut Glasshouse out of the match.

DIVISION 4 GRAND FINAL SCORE:

Glasshouse 122 (D Walters 30, T Webster 25; J Nugent 5/28, J Burton 4/38) v Wamuran-Stanley River 6/304 (A Phillips 92, D Gibson 57 not out, B Teske 51, L Wright 49; B Gregory 2/35, J Hextall 2/54) at Glasshouse Mountain Sports Oval.
