Thrilling tie in Division 4

Wamuran-Stanley River and Yandina couldn’t be separated as a thrilling tie resulted in last Saturday’s Division 4 cricket tussle at Wamuran Sports Reserve.

Yandina tallied 184 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 40 overs, before Wamuran-Stanley River did likewise.

In a further sign of evenness, each team had six batters reach double figures without making more than 42, and each team had five bowlers sharing the wickets.

Wamuran-Stanley River falls just short in Division 6

Yandina edged out Wamuran-Stanley River by eight runs in a high scoring Division 6 cricket contest at Yandina.

The home side compiled 205 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 40 overs, before the visitors lost six wickets during the gallant run chase.

Illegitimate deliveries proved costly for both sides, as the visitors sent down 20 wides and three no-balls before the hosts delivered 23 wides and four no-balls.

Convincing win in Division 7

Caboolture’s total of 113 all out proved insufficient in the Division 7 contest as Wamuran-Stanley River bettered it for the loss of just four wickets.

After slipping from 0/22 to 3/37, Caboolture progressed to 3/79 before losing its last seven wickets for just 34 runs.

Mark Goves was the chief wicket-taker for the victors.
