The senior matches were scheduled to last two days but one-day matches took place instead, after play was abandoned on January 8 due to wet weather.

Successful run chase in Division 4

Wamuran-Stanley River’s Division 4 team had a comfortable seven-wicket win on home soil after dismissing Caloundra for 95 in 32.5 overs.

The visiting team slipped from 3/46 to 6/46, and later lost its eighth and ninth wickets on 73 before a 22-run last wicket partnership took place.

The hosts achieved the winning runs from the first ball of the 26th over in the run chase.

A close finish in Division 6

The Division 6 contest at Nirimba Sports Complex turned into a thriller as Wamuran-Stanley River won by 12 runs against host team USC.

USC’s Cale Hughey captured 5/21 as the visitors made 9/159 in 40 overs while the hosts conceded 50 runs in sundries, including 43 wides and five no-balls.

USC crashed to 8/50 before partnerships of 83 and 14 threatened to steal an improbable victory.

Wamuran-Stanley River’s bowlers lacked discipline as they delivered 36 wides and three no-balls.

Division 7 protects competitive total

Wamuran-Stanley River batted first on home soil and scored rapidly, but lost wickets regularly and was all out for 162 in 27 overs.

In reply, USC succumbed for 122 in 32 overs.
