Win for Caboolture in Division 5

CABOOLTURE teams struggled with the bat during last weekend’s senior cricket fixtures, while Caboolture’s bowlers made an impact in Division 5.

Batting collapse in Division 1

Caboolture crashed to 73 all out in 19.5 overs on its way to a seven-wicket defeat on home soil.

Maroochydore’s opening bowler Reid Anderson dismissed Caboolture’s first three batters, and two run-outs also hurt the home side.

The visiting side was in trouble at 3/14 before an unbroken 60-run partnership sealed the result in just 16 overs.

Preston White nabbed 2/3 from four overs for Caboolture.

Division 2 couldn’t maintain upper hand

Host team Caboolture fell to a 102-run defeat against Palmwoods, after the home side had the upper hand for a while.

The visitors were 7/105 before 65 not out from Hayden Guest lifted the total to 8/205.

Jordan Lee McManus was the pick of Caboolture’s bowlers with 3/13.

In the run chase, the hosts lost their last seven wickets for just 20 runs.

Stuttering to victory in Division 5

Caboolture survived some scares before overcoming Nambour on Caboolture soil.

The visitors were 0/32 before plummeting to 101 all out, and then the hosts fell from 0/46 to 7/97 before reaching the target.

Nicholas Haffenden took three wickets for the victors, before Mitchell Smith top-scored with 32 not out in the run chase.

Run chase falls short in Division 7

Nambour tallied 200 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 40 overs, before visiting team Caboolture could manage a total of only 110 in reply.

Alfie Shepherd’s 86 at number three provided the backbone of the home side’s total, while Bradley Berry took 3/20 for Caboolture.

Nambour’s Brent Mackie captured 5/7 in eight overs, with the visitors suffering a dramatic collapse after passing 100 for the loss of only three wickets.

Caboolture defends total in women’s contest

The Caboolture women’s team compiled 117 runs for the loss of four wickets in 20 overs, before restricting host team Landsborough to 4/88.

Rebekah Eakin was Caboolture’s top scorer with 23 retired.
