Successful run chase in Division 1

Caboolture cantered to a nine-wicket victory over Nambour at Caboolture Sports Cricket Club.

Mitchell Lee was the pick of Caboolture’s bowlers with 3/12 as Nambour was dismissed for 111 in the 39th over, before the hosts romped to the target in 18 overs.

Jackson Simpson was dismissed for 32, before Preston White (46 not out) and Glen Batticciotto (19 not out) finished off the run chase.

Yandina too good in Division 2

Yandina defeated Caboolture by four wickets in the Division 2 contest at Yandina.

Tony Loweke captured five wickets for the hosts as the visitors tallied 161 runs in 40 overs, before Yandina reached the target in the 28th over.

Yandina slipped from 2/77 to 5/81 before a hard-hitting innings of 44 from Michael Trace took the hosts to the brink of victory.

Caboolture too strong in Division 5

Caboolture had a comfortable 54-run victory over Cooroy-Eumundi at Cooroy Sportsground in Division 5.

John Hope took 5/11 in six overs as the visitors made 9/158 in their 40 overs, helped by 31 runs in illegal deliveries.

The hosts slumped to 6/16 before lower order resistance added some respectability to the total.

Glasshouse wins women’s contest

The Caboolture women’s team was unable to defend their total of 5/107 in a 20 overs per side contest at the Glasshouse Mountains.

The hosts lost an early wicket in the run chase before unbeaten 30s from Alexis Turner and Kim Howden enabled Glasshouse to win by seven wickets and with 5.4 overs to spare.
