Somerset Regional Council Mayor Graeme Lehmann said Council is disappointed to hear that people are trespassing on Mount Glen Rock, which is not yet open to the public (with the exception of the Sandy Creek walking trail).

“The site is adequately signed and anyone entering the site without council’s permission is breaking the law,” Mr Lehmann said.

“Council continues to progress with developing a master plan for the site and is currently undertaking cultural and ecological surveys.

“These surveys will inform the master plan and any future development therefore Council has no immediate plans for fencing at the site.

“The public is requested to remain off the mountain to protect the landscape from undesirable harm.

“Council also encourages people to report any illegal dumping in the region directly to council so we can investigate and action.”
