The home side tallied 168 runs for the loss of four wickets in its 30 overs, before the visitors lost seven wickets in their total of 117.

Rory Lang took an early wicket before Caloundra Black recovered as opener Aiden Broomfield led the way with 49 not out.

Krystian Hughey (26 not out), Harrison Cox (21) and Mackenzie Wishart (15 retired) also made solid contributions while Lang, Declan Bigalla and Marcus Abdy claimed a wicket each for Wamuran-Stanley River Blue.

Caloundra Black’s total included 38 sundries before Wamuran-Stanley River Blue’s innings included 35 sundries, but the visitors fell well behind the required run rate.

Lang scored an undefeated 45 while Anthony Runge (15) was the only other player from the visiting team to score more than eight.

Ky Brand (2/13) and Keanu Muller (2/15) were the pick of Caloundra Black’s bowlers while Wishart claimed one scalp, as did Noah Bourke.

Meanwhile, wet conditions forced other junior cricket fixtures to be cancelled.
