The event, which started with complimentary cheese and wine on arrival, involved the showcasing of a range of local artworks as well as the opportunity for people to mingle with the artists themselves.

Woodford local Lynn May was awarded Grand Champion with her oil painting “Out in the Country”, and John Clark’s drawing “Stolen” secured him the Reserve Champion prize.

Woodford Art Group would like to thank Veronica Nichols who donated the Hazel Nichols Memorial Trophies for the Champion and Reserve winners.

The Helene McEwan Watercolour Encouragement Award, donated by Helen’s daughter Sharon, was awarded to Ellen Adriaansen for her piece “Proud Peacock”.

The exhibition will remain open at the gallery until November 30
