In her very first year of competing in the NRA competition, the Woodford State School student proved she has got what it takes to make it big time, being named the U12 Breakaway Roping Champion, Barrel Race Champion, Dummy Roping Champion and Pole Bending Champion.

Demi said she has been rodeoing for two years now and has developed a real passion for the sport.

She said her favourite thing about rodeoing is the pressure and horsemanship.

“I practice every arvo roping and getting the horses fit,” she said.

Demi’s goal for the future is to make the National Finals Rodeo (NFR), which features the world’s top 120 contestants in a 10-day competition in Las Vegas.
